I’ve been busy this month reforming my life. I’m prone to anxiety when changes occur, its the feeling of doubt which niggles away at the back of my mind, making me aware that things may not work out or go according to plan. But, on the other hand I’m also aware that change is sometimes neccessary, if you need to move on or take the next steps forward.
The past few months I’ve had to temporarily alter my priorities, just until things become more settled. Due to this I’ve not had much time with my DSLR cameras.
I did however, find the distraction of looking through my iphoto archives to be unwinding, as I rediscoverd my past images I took with my old Nikon d60 camera, I connected some of my photos with this months photo blogging theme: ‘3‘.
As I didn’t take part last month I thought I could at least write a post this month using some of my oldies. I know that we have a rule to try to take new shots each month, but just this once wouldn’t hurt. So here is my entry:
The images above of the cups & saucers are from my early still life efforts, taken in 2011. I remember taking these shots because I’d found wild flowers growing in my unruly garden, they resembled the adorning orange flower painted onto the old set of Wellinton China teacups. I liked the cluster of 3 flowers inside the cup, as they suited the theme well for this month.
I’d not long moved into a new house and had found so many interesting things which my mum had packed away into boxes, unknown collections from past generations. I don’t think we will ever actually use the cups, in case the china gets broken.
My image no.3 is one that I did actually take this month. It’s a photo of an old calender which was given to my mother in 1958, it was her leaving present when she left her office job as typist. The calender relies on someone to remember to flip it over each day and to change the month accordingly, which I never do.
Image no.4, wild strawberries also from my unruly garden, which is also one of my old shots from 2011. I thought the image related well with the theme no.’3‘.
My fifth image below is a shot I did take this month, it’s a close up of my favourite house cactus, I couldn’t resist the crazy texture of the plant hair against the 3 soft pink flowers.
Last month I finally got around to buying the kit lens for my Canon DSLR’s: 18-55mm f3.5-5.6. The catcus close up above is the result of one of my test shots. I wanted to see how close the lens will focuss and for a telephoto lens 0.28m is really good.

I would like to ask for advice from my anyone, about my new wordpress website My Portfolio. I realise it is still a work in progress, but before I start adding all my portfolio images and features I need to know if I should map the domain to this one or choose my other blog instead?
