Here are two photos of a sculpture, being created by artist Helen Ansell. I photographed Helen’s sculpture class whilst on the woLAN project at the Nottingham women’s centre last year.
The woLAN project (Women’s Liberation and After in Nottingham) has held many events to celebrate the lives of women, the history of the Women’s Liberation Movement, the establishment of Nottingham Women’s Centre in 1971 and to raise awareness of the issues now affecting women’s lives.
I love the texture in her hair.
Then she was painted.
With a smile.
I made a slideshow of the sculpture class and recorded it as a movie. To see my slideshow then please click here.
